Music unwraps the heart, sings out the prayer, dances the spirit, and opens the soul. Mary Davis
Each week I try to think about what musical moments have inspired me the most during the week. For me, prayer and music were the inspiration from my 1st graders this week. Earlier this week I was told by our priest that we will be celebrating the Feast Day for Lady Guadalupe on December 12th. I was asked if the 3rd-5th grade choir could sing a song in Spanish, so I pondered (and pondered), but instead my coworker suggested one, “Open My Eyes”. When I first heard the song I was instantly drawn to it. Since I work in a Catholic school, prayer is a part of my class and one of the main reasons I love working in a parochial school. Today the first graders ended class in prayer and one student said we should always do that. For me, I needed to hear that comment, so thank you to that first grader.
Music speaks to me at random, and I never know when, but what music has touched you in the past few days? Never forget, “where words fail, music speaks”.
Please enjoy listening to the song that inspired me this week.
